Not So Windy City

We made a trip up north to visit family and friends in Chicago this past weekend. We were blessed with wonderful weather, especially this time of year. On Sunday at the Bears game Gale Sayers posed for a picture with the boys.

Growing Leaps and Bounds

In nine weeks, the pups have gone from 7 and 9 pounds to 23.5 and 27.5 pounds. By the looks of the size of their feet, I think they will definitely be large goldens.

Painful Sports Season

I am pretty sure I can count on one hand the number of wins between Jon's football games, Morgan's football games and Jon's soccer games, and we are 3 weeks away from the season ending. Yuck! Bought a new camcorder to catch the boys in action. Not great at operating it yet, but I did catch Morgan during a P.A.T. this week. He was 2-2 in that game.

Something About a Puppy Makes Me Smile

Hollie and Chloie joined our family on Saturday. They are 7 week old golden retrievers. The boys are so excited about the "girls". Even Sophie is somewhat smitten with them. From time to time when they whimper or cry while in their crate, Sophie will run over and give a bark of disapproval. This seems to quiet them down. I think she'll keep them in their place.

Sneak Peek

Yesterday we took the boys to go see the newest additions to our family. Jonathan immediately knew that he wanted to name his girl "Hollie". Morgan has spent some time researching dog names, had a good idea what he was going to name his girl, saw her then decided that that name wouldn't work for her. On our way home from the visit, he finally came up with "Chloie". Next Saturday they will officially join our family. It could be interesting. Looking forward to becoming a family of 7!

Missing Mollie :(

She was such a good dog. She is truly missed by all of us including her big sis, Sophie. Mollie was never a fan of cameras, so our pictures of her are few and far between. Most of her pictures were either by surprise or she had been captured and had no way out! Thank you for 5 wonderful years, Molz!

Looking for the next squirrel to chase.

She loved to get in bed with us.

Hiding...somewhat!

Grounded from getting in the mud. She even looks guilty.

Cuddling with Morgan.

School 2009-2010

Unfortunately it's that time of year again. Not that education is a bad thing, but every year our summer seems to fly by. Here are the boys on their first day of school.

Almost a Teenager!

Happy 12th Birthday Morgan! At 4:45 a.m. 12 years ago we welcomed you, our first born son into our family. You made your grand entrance into this world weighing a whopping 9 lbs. 2 oz. on the 4th of July. What a great day for a birthday. From the moment I saw you, you captured my heart. You are my quiet one. You are bright and talented beyond your comprehension. I love the fact that you have found one thing that you are good at (place kicking) and are determined to build on that talent . I'm looking forward to watching you in football this year as a 7th grader. Always know that you are loved. My life if blessed because of you. Wishing you a wonderful birthday today. You deserve it.

Kicking it Up at OSU

Morgan

Jonathan

Ambitious Boy

Jonathan's dream is to attend medical school at The Ohio State University.  While Morgan was attending OSU's kicking camp, we spent some time walking around the campus.

Life Made Simple

I no longer have to mop the floors!  My irobot does it for me.  I'd love to take credit for its purchase, but since I am married to Mr. Clean, Mark gets all the credit.  So far is has done an incredible job, plus we saved some $$$ by purchasing a remanufactured Scooba through the irobot site.

Strawberries for Breakfast

Nothing like starting your morning with strawberries, ice cream and whipped cream!

Around the Town

Day 1 :  Tour of retired Naval aircraft carrier, U.S.S. Midway

Day 2:  San Diego Zoo

A Trip without Kids

This has never happened until now... a trip without kids. This is the first time Mark and I have vacationed without our boys. It's been 12 years since we have vacationed on our own. San Diego was the destination. My first trip to California. We stayed at the beautiful resort Hotel Del Coronado. Even though my portion of the trip was short (3 days), I still enjoyed being able to get away. Mark is there until Wed. The business portion of his trip begins today.
