Middle School Boys

The boys headed back to school yesterday. Having both of them in the same building this year will simplify my life!

Life Without Sophie :(

We miss her dearly. Here is a picture of Hollie taken a couple of days before Sophie died. I didn't realize when I took this picture of Hollie, that Sophie is in the picture too. Sophie took a liking to Hollie...she is much calmer than Chloie:) Speaking of the pups, they recently celebrated their first birthday. They sure have changed since last August. Little did we know back then, that they truly would be our new "girls" as our old "girls" would be gone within 10 months of each other.

Loving, gentle, kind, devoted, sweet...Sophie. This isn't how I thought her life would have ended. A large rock found in the belly of our whale. She must have scooped it up when she was smelling all the new smells in our backyard from the flood. She was our first golden. She is the reason we bought Mollie, Chloie and Hollie. She is the reason we will always have goldens. Now she is at peace. I thank God that we didn't have to put her down. He must have known how hard Mollie's death was on us ten months ago. I will miss her staring out our bedroom window watching us leave the house. I will miss her greeting me at the door when I come home from work each day. I will miss HER. Thank you for 9 1/2 wonderful years, my friend. You were truly loved.

Not So Windy City

We made a trip up north to visit family and friends in Chicago this past weekend. We were blessed with wonderful weather, especially this time of year. On Sunday at the Bears game Gale Sayers posed for a picture with the boys.

In nine weeks, the pups have gone from 7 and 9 pounds to 23.5 and 27.5 pounds. By the looks of the size of their feet, I think they will definitely be large goldens.
